Nextracker Inc. is thrilled to be partnering with Forum Mobility and Hight Logistics, Inc., whom are now hauling with clean EV trucks, hundreds of truckloads of our smart solar tracker components supporting US customers. Last month we launched our Low Carbon Tracker and optimized, cleaner logistics are part of the story. NXT’s north star is a world powered by sunshine. And we want to ensure the road to get there is as clean as possible. Zero-emission trucking is new, and we are now using it for some of our operations on the eve of the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo happening this week in Vegas. Although commercial trucks only make up 7% of vehicles on California roads, they are responsible for over 25% of greenhouse gas emissions, over 60% of nitrogen oxides, and over 55% of fine particulate pollution from transportation in CA. To help support this side of the energy transition, we’re kicking the tires on using zero-emissions trucks where we can.
Hight Logistics is a small family-owned drayage fleet, and they’ve been working with Forum Mobility, a leading charging services provider, to deploy a fleet of zero-emissions battery electric trucks. Hight is now running containers of Nextracker equipment for us and so far, we’re seeing great progress.
Last week, Forum Mobility held a groundbreaking ceremony for a big new electric truck charging depot in the Port of Long Beach. It will support high-speed charging for hundreds of drayage trucks daily, supporting California’s transition to zero-emission transportation. The FM Harbor facility is part of a larger Forum Mobility network of heavy-duty truck charging depots strategically located in ports and on routes to common freight destinations. Each depot includes on-site security, charging, and driver parking to deliver a plug-in-play experience for truckers switching to electric. Zero emissions options are growing. Let’s rev up the batteries!
Zero-emission solar tracker systems are being delivered by zero-emission trucks – so that we can produce more zero-emission electricity to charge those batteries. A zero-emission virtuous circle – how cool is that?
