Performance claims only matter when they are proven, and when they create measurable value in the real world. That is why we asked Quintas Advisory, an independent technical advisor with deep renewables expertise, to evaluate TrueCapture® under live operating conditions across multiple utility-scale sites.
Their conclusion: TrueCapture unlocked up to ~4% additional energy vs. standard backtracking through advanced, real-time controls. The results were validated with rigorous normalization to isolate the impact of the system — accounting for irradiance, temperature, PV mismatch, and other variables that influence plant output.
What stands out most is that the measured gains were in line with — and in some cases exceeded — what the modeling predicted. That matters.
For owners, lenders, and engineers, the question is not just “can it perform?” The answer to that is yes. The more important question is whether the uplift can be accurately simulated in advance, and then validated through detailed measurement and verification once the plant is operating.
The answer: TrueCapture definitely can.
The Quintas Advisory study is also noteworthy because these gains show up when plants typically aren’t clipped or curtailed—early/late sun angles, terrain-driven row-to-row shading, and diffuse-light conditions. In other words, these additional megawatt-hours are often fully realizable and monetizable, not theoretical.
We were a first-mover on this approach. The industry has learned what we recognized a decade ago: real sites are messy—terrain, weather, haze, and edge-of-day angles all matter. TrueCapture, our advanced energy control management system, enables these sites to unlock additional energy across that range of conditions.
I love this timelapse video showing TrueCapture “on” and “off”.
Since that video was produced, we have advanced further with our patented SplitBoost™ technology, our proprietary row-to-row tracking algorithm that leverages split-module designs to get the most out of valuable morning and evening irradiation.
But this technology only works when the fundamentals are right. It requires a detailed, as-built 3D site model with centimeter-scale precision and high-accuracy, independent row control. Without that foundation, you are guessing.
Independent validation builds confidence. Confidence drives bankability. And bankability enables deployment at scale.
We’re powering what’s next.
